Want to learn about the spectrum of culture in the German-speaking countries of Europe but don’t want to tackle learning the German language? If so, then our new course “Passport to German-Speaking Europe” is perfect for you. Inspired by a popular course we offered years ago, this class will give you an opportunity to learn about some of the fascinating features of Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and, of course, Germany through their history, art, literature, geography, cuisine and customs. That’s an ambitious program, but your particular interests and questions will play a big part in the focus of the class and your participation in student-driven activities will enrich your experience. Instruction will be in English, but you’ll get the basics of pronunciation and “must know" (or at least recognize) vocabulary. You’ll be able to enroll in the class when registration opens in late summer.
