Below are all classes currently offered online for the 2026-2027 session.
They are instructed synchronously over Zoom.
Details on accessing the Zoom meeting will be sent via email to students before the first scheduled class session.
All online classes are for adult students age 17+ only.
To enroll in an online course, students must have a current, valid email address.
Tuesdays: 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. EST, starting September 22
Beginners A1.1 (Online): Adam Wiley
Textbook: Begegnungen A1+
This course is for those just beginning their journey in exploring the German language and culture. It is divided into four courses designed to build a solid foundation in German language competency with 200 instructional hours spread over a four-year period. This is a text-based course that covers all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The textbook follows the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages. For online students in the Cincinnati area, textbooks will be available for purchase at the Fairview-Clifton German Language School on September 19 (first day of in-person classes). For those unable to pick up on this day, an alternative method for acquiring the textbook can be sorted out after registration.
Beginners 2 (Online): Rick Manoff
Textbook: Vorsprung (4th Ed.)
This is a continuation of total beginners level 1. We will be continue reviewing Chapter 4 in Vorsprung, 4th edition. All four skills (reading, writing, listening comprehension and oral proficiency) are taught with an emphasis on everyday oral competence.

Beginners 4 (Online): Rick Manoff
Textbook: Vorsprung (4th Ed.)
This class will complete the last two chapters of Vorsprung, 4th ed., with provided readings. We are also using the supplement paperback Geheime Mission (by Hans J. Koenig). if you have not purchased a used copy yet, we recommend you try Amazon. All four skills (reading, writing, listening comprehension and oral proficiency) are taught with an emphasis on extensive oral competence.
